My Wall and Chocolate Truffles

Tagged:  •

Baked truffles and cookies yesterday... sanding down a wall today! And that did me sooooo good, to finally (after sitting months studying) get my ass moving and hold a drilling machine in my hands. Eye-wink

Going South

Tagged:  •    •

I am off to spend a week and Christmas with my Mama and step-daddy in the South of France. And I am looking forward to wine, chocolate truffles and, not to forget, the champaign that will be featured during the chocolate truffle making. Smiling

Besides that, I'll go for a drive in the new Smart and walk along the beach, my toes in the icy water, sleep without an alarm clock waking me up but the wind and village life...

Last French conversation class before Christmas

Tagged:  •    •    •

On Thursday, we'll meet for our last conversation class before Christmas.

I suspect we'll start by talking about this tradition in each others' country, the main differences, maybe exchange receipes.

I'm sure somebody will come up with a question

We'll talk about our plans for this holiday;

When we come back in January, we can talk about our new resolutions for 2008!!

Since September, we've had many different topics: answering your questions about this strange country, France and its strange habits. We could compare countries: sometimes better, sometimes worse. So we learnt about each other's country, region and profession;

We talked about our reason to be in France and in this particular part of France, our expectations, why we left our native country or region .

We've talked about health, strikes, weddings, administration ( French!!!),taxes, setting up a business, gardening, sports (rugby, golf) , school system, studies, university, elections,  what else???

We compared our experiences;we agreed, we disagreed; we shared good adresses for sites or restaurants, we told jokes, we learnt "slang" .

We read, practised and acted a short play. We prepared and did role-plays.

Basically, we TALk, TALK and DRINK and EAT and lLAUGH

Leaving Paris

Tagged:  •

This is going to be my last night in my current Parisian bed, with the typical Parisian background sound and smell.

I have been busy packing and studying for my exams and tomorrow the day has come, that I will make my way towards south of France, so I can spend Christmas with my family under the cactus. Smiling
