Desktop Background

Tagged:  •    •

It has been 7 years I have had this picture as a desktop background on my computers. Its name: Maiden Rescue Operation (= Jungfräuliche Rettungsaktion)

I drew it in paint in the year 2000, on my very first computer discovering the magic of Paint. Smiling

And now it's a time of change, so I put this one instead...It's much calmer now, right? Smiling
I took it in the first couple of weeks in San Francisco, when having been on the Golden Gate Bridge the first time.

I am still alive

Yes, I am still alive, still writing and trying to update my blog. But I have been extremely busy since the second I arrived in France.

I am working for/on this right now: slconference 2007 also documented here.

San Francisco

Tagged:  •

I am accepted to the exchange program of the San Francisco State University in Spring 2007.

WOW...hmmm, well this may have not been a surprise to me or to anyone else...but never be sure until you got it written on a piece of paper.
Black on white.

So now the stressful part begins. Need to get a visa and enrol in classes.

Oh and while I am already writing about San Francisco: DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYONE THAT COULD HELP WITH ACCOMODATION?
Everyone can participate and make suggestions Smiling.

Thanks in advance!

BILL GATES' SPEECH TO MT. WHITNEY HIGH SCHOOL in Visalia,CA.

(Love him or hate him, he sure hits the nail on the head with this!)
To anyone with kids of any age, here's some advice. Bill Gates recently gave a speech at a High School about 11 things they did not and will not learn in school. He talks about how feel-good, politically correct teachings created a generation of kids with no concept of reality and how this concept set them up for failure in the real world.

Rule 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!

Rule 2: The world won't care about your self-esteem. The world will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you feel good about yourself.

Dance Delight

Tagged:  •    •

Yesterday I have been to a dance competition called Dance Delight. The dance styles all are part of Hip Hop/Street Dance so that includes Locking, Breaking (and that's all I know of) and lots of other things such as the robot style (maybe Charlotte can help me out here and do a little promotion Smiling). It was amazing, stunning and at times I was just staring and thinking WOW! So Charlotte and her group took part. I knew that they would be in the first three. They got the third place. The winner is going to Japan to take part in the Japanese Dance Delight competition, where it originates. Here it has to be said that it was the first time abroad.

That's them: Les virtuoses de l'instant Charlie and Jimmy And this is a Japanese Dancer that is part of a Japanese group who won the competition last year. He was part of the jury.
