This morning I was actually a little late but the guests already knew how to pour themselves coffee. So not that much of a problem.

Today was even more interesting than yesterday. I listened to the workshop of the President of the IACBE (Rober Roller) about the Integration of Strategic Planning and Outcomes Assessment. It was about having a goal, a budget plan, time plan etc. At the same time I recorded Arlene Mlodzik's presentation about Managing the Intercultural Classroom. But I still have to get the permission to publish it. I just figured out that the guy who recorded must have forgotten to put the recorder on the first table, in front of the presentor. Well, you'd have to concentrate when listening.

What a day!
I arrived too early but anyway. This gave us time to prepare and get settled and everything. I started being at the registration/reception and could see how important the attending people of the conference are and where they come from.

Then I went to the Open Plenary Session. The President of the IACBE held a short presentation and a very good presentation was done by Mrs. M-L Kearney, director and secretary, Forum on higher education, research and knowledge at UNESCO. I tried to record her presentation and wanted to ask her for permission to publish it here. But, unfortunately, you can't hear a thing! I should have been closer to her. Anyway, it dealt with life-long learning, secondary and tertiary education and the balance between apprenticeships and academic careers.

IACBE - International Conference

The clock is ticking and I should go to bed and read something that will calm me down a little.
Tomorrow morning at 8 o'clock I will be standing at the reception and seeing all those important faces that are taking part at the first international conference of the IACBE in Paris.
I washed my hair, did my nails and my head already figured out what to wear. Well the main part is going to be the suit I bought. But details are also important, aren't they. Sometimes even more than the main picture.

I printed my business cards and cut them to the right size. My blog now also include links to French and English CV's (Don't hesitate to look or to remind me to update them Eye-wink.)

IACBE stands for International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. The coming Friday and Saturday (in one week) will take place a conference with 80 delegates for the first time at my university; it is the first time outside the USA!

Well and I was asked to help, distribute the badges and registrate and I am even allowed to take part at the work shops. The first opportunity to wear my trouser suit Smiling

I am already excited.
