French Scene is a members' club with an emphasis on friendship, unique experiences and exclusive events. It is aimed at people of all ages and from all walks of life who have in common a love of the Languedoc and all things French.

Because we are new here (and curious) we decided to be members at french-scene.com.
We love the idea of building networks and the yearly fee is only 49 Euro. Today was the first event - Anne Stanley and Philippa Bowman invited us to a business breakfast in Rives Saltes (a suburb of Perpignan). 32 people were there. They have business interests in this area. Everyone held a small presentation and distributed business cards and flyers. I brought all my books with me and talked shortly about my work. Christine made a short description of her work at cocoate.com, our company. At the meeting, we met Florence Delseny-Sobra. She is living in Perpignan and working in a language school (alfmed.com) .
She tries to bring the local authorities and the foreigners together.
For foreigner it isn't easy to organize everything. The employees at the local authorities are speaking french and foreigners are normally tourists. Slowly they realize, that a lot of foreigners live in the area, make their business and bring a lot of value to the Languedoc region.

Unfortunately the website of french scene isn't that interactive - let's see what the future will bring.
After the meeting we have two hours time. Christine had to go to London, UK for giving a drupal training und I had violent headache. So we decided to drive to the beach for sleeping an hour.
The sun stands now more deeply, the colors become more intensive and the air becomes clearer. The sea is pleasantly cool.
